We are continuing to work closely with our Community Police Support Officers and they will be coming in on 24th June and 8th July covering workshops on internet safety, stranger danger, road safety, anti-social behaviour and knife crime.
We will be holding an end of year open evening on Wednesday 13th July. This will be an opportunity for you to come and look at your child's work for the year and meet their teacher for next year.
Please note that school will be closed to children on Friday 18th February for a Teacher Training Day.
Year 5 will be visiting Blackwell Court on Thursday 10th March. We have visited Blackwell a number of times and know that the children will have a great time as there are many outdoor adventurous activities that help build teamwork.
The week beginning 21st March will be Shakespeare week in school. Each class will study a Shakespeare text and produce a piece of writing around this text. The week will finish off with each class attending a Shakespeare workshop presented by West End Theatre group.
We are hoping to hold our Parents' Consultation in school this term. We aim to have this in the classroom with just one family in at a time. Rooms will be well ventilated. Nearer the time we will advise you of any Covid requirements which may require you to wear masks. Appointment times will be offered nearer the time.
This term each year group will receive a virtual visit from an author explaining what inspired them to be authors and where they get their ideas from.

Parent's evening this term will be on Wednesday 1st April and an appointment system will be used. This will be a chance for you to discuss your child's progress and how you can support them at home.
In school we have been thinking about giving during Advent rather than just receiving and how we can help our local community. Therefore we are asking EYFS/Y1/Y2 to donate tinned and packet food, Y3/Y4 to donate toiletries and Y5/Y6 to donate Christmas treats. These will then be donated to our local foodbank. Your contributions will be greatly appreciated and the children will certainly give the gift of hope and joy to many families this Christmas time.

On Friday 22nd March West End School Productions will be visiting us for the day and each class will take part in a workshop. This will result in the whole school performing a Shakespeare play at the end of the day.
On Thursday 17th January Years 1-6 will be attending a special science themed assembly run by 'Medical Mavericks.' Their funding comes from promoting careers in medicine at all levels from the NHS.

On Friday 24th June we will welcome our Governors into school for the day. They will attend assembly, have the opportunity to visit classes, be questioned by children and have lunch. We are looking forward to this day as we have not been able to do this for the last two years.
School will be closed to all children on Thursday 3rd March due tolocal elections following the sad passing of Jack Dromey MP.
As part of their curriculum Year 3 will be visiting a farm on Friday 1st April to support their work in class.
We have been offered the opportunity by Warwickshire County Cricket Club to have two of their coaches for the day on Friday 14th January. All of the KS2 classes will receive an hour session from these coaches.
We are launching the use of Time Table Rockstars, an online program to support times tables, on Friday 14th January. To make this a fun day we are asking for the children to come to school dressed as rock stars for the day.
The children will be having great fun during the last week of term celebrating Christmas. We have some great activities planned for the children and they can wear their own clothes/Christmas jumpers all week. Below is a timetable of events.

The Life caravan will be visiting us on the Thursday 30th and Friday 31 January. Each class will visit the mobile classroom for a workshop based on a theme around leading healthy lifestyles.
The week beginning 23rd March is Shakespeare week and we have a number of activities planned. Y3-6 will be visiting Stratford for a day on 25th March where they will have the opportunity to visit his birthplace and do a number of hands on activities. KS1 will take part in a workshop in school which will result in them performing a Shakespeare play at the end of the day.

On Friday 13th September the children will be exploring the poems of Roald Dahl through a range of exciting activities.
Our first Parent's evening for this year will be on Wednesday 23rd October and an appointment system will be used like last year. This will be a chance for you to discuss your child's targets for this term and how you can support them at home.

On Monday 14th October Academy Photographers will be in school to take individual photos of each child and will also be available before school for family photos.
During September the children in Year 6 will be applying for the position of Head Boy and Head Girl. The final three boy and girl candidates will then make their speeches to the whole school hoping to get their votes in the election.

As our Reception class come to the end of this year we they will be having a graduation for them on Wednesday 17th July at 2.30 in the hall. You are all invited to attend.
This year we will be holding our Year 6 Awards Evening on Thursday 18th July at 6.00. This is an opportunity for us to celebrate the successes of the children in Year 6 during their time at Court Farm School. The evening will begin with the awards and then the children will stay for a disco. We look forward to seeing you all there.
Year 6 will be performing their Leavers' Assembly at 9.10 on Friday 19th July. We hope that you can come and join us to celebrate their time at Court Farm.
We will be holding parent reading workshops in the hall this term to enable you to further support your child with reading at home. Your child's class teacher will run the session and as part of the workshop you will be able to complete an activity with your child in school. All workshops will run from 9.00 -10.30 in the school hall.

We will be celebrating World Book day on Thursday 7th March and we are asking children to come to school dressed in pyjamas/ nightwear. Our focus this year is reading at bedtime...look out for what we do!
